"Yeah Jefe, I think I might have a problem"

The Wolf seemed a bit nervous. He kept rubbing his hands on his pants and he seemed fidgety as we walked back to our adjoining cubes. When we arrived he walked right into my cube and looked in the box. Unfortunately it was empty.

He seemed a bit shocked and the casual, humorous facade of a minute ago vanished. The Wolf picked the box up, looked carefully in the cracks and crevices of its cheap paper construction and was disappointed.

Nothing. NO dice. Big GooseEgg.

"What the... You've got to be kidding me"

He looked at me, and I slowly shook my head.

Suddenly the box disappeared into a flurry of shredded cardboard. That got my attention. A moment of silence followed by an unexpected flash of violence, a unscripted display of uncool.

It would appear that:
A)I was out

and

2)The Wolf was already hurting.

As I coolly surveyed this loss of control it occured to me that the Wolf wasn't the only one in the building that would be missing his or her fix. It seemed that my attempt to create a fun atmosphere at work by sharing my wealth was going to blow up in my face unless I replenished... and that right soon.

"Easy Wolf"

"I'm alright, I'm alright"

He calmly walked towards his cube, he looked a bit shaky but altogther I think he was going to make it.

------------------

Its actually a bit Ironic.

Why you ask?

Because reader, its like this.

They laughed.

Oh yes.

They laughed.

When I told people that I had bought individually wrapped mint toothpicks on the internet, They laughed.

When I told them I ordered said toothpicks late at night while drunk, They laughed.

When I told them I ordered eight boxes containing 500 individually wrapped mint toothpicks on the internet late one night while drunk, well... They laughed a lot..

But you know when the laughter stops?

When I don't haul in another box to replace the one they've emptied with their freaking toothpick habit.

No, now the laughter's been replace by a sad, accusing look.

Freaking Junkies...
