What follows is an homage.

To the teenager with blond dreadlocks that came to the hip-hop show.
To me you didn't seem smart but you looked in the know

While I tried to look mean and physically well-endowed
you just stood there unperturbed, implacable, unbowed.

At one point I smelled weed and looked in your direction
But you just stood there, unmoving, with no apparent connection

I wondered, is whitey-locks enjoying the rhymmes?
But you gave no indication, you didn't bump you didn't grind.

I confess I was a little nervous at the hip hop show
Cuz whitey, there were a lot of these large, angry fellows

And though that fact may have given me pause
Your presence reassured me that any shove or faux pas

Could be directly attributed with a quick, discreet nod
To the kid over there with white man dreadlocks

God bless you blondie where ever you may be
Your pupils were dilated and you seemed all at sea
