Arrived in Quito yesterday with no problems, first class all the way thanks to some friend's extra upgrades (thanks Thad and Meagan!). Today I observed Dick's interviewer training and made a lot of progress with my logistics on several fronts - hopefully this luck will hold! I'll be here for the rest of the week and then down to Loja to actually get into the field - the updates may slow at that point as I get succcesively farther from a decent internet connection...
